about

Released on 17th June 2013, "Zero to Thirty in 60 Minutes" is a compilation album celebrating 30 years of Mr Steve's life on planet Earth. Featuring tracks as young as a month and as ancient as 16 years old, it chronicles Mr Steve's favourite songs from his solo recording career, as well as tracks from his band Last Chance To Escape and his former band Inertia Reel. A weird and wonderful journey, "Zero to Thirty" contains noisy punk, piano ballads, jazzy lounge ditties, big rock songs and samples from a host of sources including Mr Steve's children, percussion using pots and pans, and even a cat in heat. And what's more, Mr Steve does not want to make a penny from this album. It is his gift to the world - all he asks is that you give it your attention. Enjoy!

Mr Steve Bognor Regis, UK

Just who is Mr Steve? The best word to describe him is "unpredictable". With influences as diverse as Eels, Puscifer, Nick Drake & Roxette, Mr Steve brings tasty food to the table. ... more

Track Name: The Family Tree
The cat with a frown
The mouse with a smile
If the neighbours complain
Let's let them stew for a while
If nothing I know
Then nothing I say
Tip my cap to the fish on memory lane
If nothing is new
And we are all crows
The search is in vain
Cos nobody knows
While you were digging your head in the sand
I slipped and fell in the sea
And I broke my nose when I fell off the family tree

Enough is enough
The story renowned
The mouse got the cream
But the cat nearly drowned
So now we're overrun by mice
And if I take my own advice
I'd invite you on a one way trip down memory lane
For once in my life
I'm telling the truth
If my colours would change
Who knows what I'd do
While you were digging your head in the sand
I slipped and fell in the sea
And I broke my nose when I fell off the family tree
I broke my nose when I fell off the family tree
Track Name: Facecloud
Down by the river, I splashed my eyes
Thought I saw your face in a dream I had
I'm sure you've found your own angel - you'll never be alone
I wander lonely down to the river
I don't know if I can carry on in silence here
